The Decision Support System (DSS) for Bhagirathi basin has been designed to support the implementation of actions and recommendations identified in the Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) plan for the basin. The DSS aids in decision-making and problem-solving by analysing vast amounts of data, providing insights, and facilitating constant monitoring.
The DSS for the Bhagirathi basin has been developed by a consortium of FutureWater (The Netherlands); University of Utrecht (The Netherlands), University of Geneva (Switzerland) and TERI (India), with support from The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). SDC is supporting climate change adaptation in the Himalayan states through 'Strengthening Climate Change Adaptation in the Himalayas (SCA-Himalayas)' project. The project is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), NITI Aayog, Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the state governments.
